The products will be delivered to Chester on Saturday, November 11th. I’ll be picking them up and bringing them to our meeting on November 13th. Parents, please come inside either before or after our meeting to pick up your products.
Text Box: Investiture

On Thursday, November 9th at 7pm, Chester Girl Scouts will hold our annual Investiture/Rededication Ceremony.  All scouts need to be at the Multi-Purpose room in uniform by 6:30pm.  All new Girl Scouts will receive their official membership pin and tabs at this ceremony.  Brownies will be on stage doing the “Twist Me-Turn Me” to the Brownie Story and the Juniors will be doing a flower ceremony.  This is an important night in the Girl Scout year.  Please try to attend.

If school is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will automatically cancel our meeting.  If the weather gets bad during the day, you will receive an email by 2:00PM letting you know that our meeting is cancelled.  If you would like me to use a different email address for these cancellation notices (work, for example), please let me know.

Text Box: GSUSA is currently in the process of a realignment of all its local councils. We currently have 312 councils nation-wide. By fall of 2008, we will have approximately 110 councils. GSSWC is merging with the Girl Scouts of Vermont Council. (GSVC) We will no longer be called Girl Scouts of Swift Water, we will get a new name. That name is yet to be determined. Stay tuned for future updates as the merger gets underway.
Also effective in the fall of 2008, the levels of Girl Scouting will be changing. The new levels will be as follows:
Grades K-1 = Girl Scout Daisy
Grades 2-3 = Girl Scout Brownie
Grades 4-5 = Girl Scout Junior
Grades 6-8 = Girl Scout Cadette
Grades 9-10 = Girl Scout Senior
Grades 11-12 = Girl Scout Ambassador

By knowing about these changes now, it allows us to plan ahead. For example, if our current 4th graders want to earn their Bronze Award, we will need to complete it next year. In 2008, they will be Cadettes not Juniors.

I will keep you updated on these changes as they progress.
