Text Box: Chester girl Scouts are running a trip to The Rinks at Exeter during the winter school vacation. It will be on Wednesday, Feb. 28th from 10 to 11:30 am. The ice will be open to only Chester Girl Scouts and their families. The cost of this trip is $5 per person and includes skate rental fees. The Rink requires that everyone skating, including adults, sign a liability waiver. I have attached one copy to our sign-up sheet. If you need additional copies, please visit their web site at http://www.exetericehouse.com/ and click on “Printable Waiver Forms”. Please return your sign-up sheet, waivers and money by Monday, Feb. 12th.
Text Box: Monday, March 12th will mark the 95th anniversary of the very first Girl Scout meeting held in the United States. Juliette Gordon Low held this meeting with 18 girls in Savannah Georgia in 1912.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, Chester Girl Scouts is holding a Candle Light Celebration! We will gather at Chester Academy between 5:30 and 6:30 PM in the café for a beautiful ceremony followed by a birthday celebration, complete with birthday cake. Juliette held a similar “Pass the Light” ceremony with her own first troop of girls. This will be a very meaningful ceremony, so I hope all the girls can attend. This ceremony is going on all across our council and is timed so we will all recite the Girl Scout Promise simultaneously.
We will not have a regular meeting that day.
Because we have to order the candles, I need an accurate count of who will be attending. Please return your sign-up form for this by next Monday.
We will be collecting canned goods at this ceremony, so please bring one to be donated to our local food pantry. Thanks!
Text Box: Cookie Orders
Text Box: Your cookie order is due today. If you forgot to return your form, please email me with the total of each type of cookie ASAP. We have only a short time to get the paperwork in to place our order.
The girls each received a “Hi-Stepper” order card. This is to continue selling cookies right through the end of the sale in March. Cookie dough will be earned on ALL sales, including these Hi-Stepper orders.
Remember, if your daughter sold door-to-door, she is also eligible for the “Walkabout Challenge” patch. Please let me know if she accomplished this goal.
Thanks for your help with this year’s sale!
