Jodie held training for Cookie Managers and Leaders.  If you didn’t get your packet, please see Jodie.

Tree Lighting and Christmas Caroling

The annual Tree Lighting is being held on Sunday, Dec 10th at Stevens Hall at 5:00 PM.  Junior and Cadette families are asked to supply the baked goods for this event.  Please encourage the girls to attend even if you are not available.  It is a fun event to kick off the Holiday season!

Fund Raising Ideas?

We decided that each troop would be responsible for coming up with $70 on their own by doing any kind of fundraiser that they want to do.  Debbie has gotten the OK for any troop interested to hold a sale at the MPR during basketball.  You can sell coffee, water, baked goods, etc.  Contact Debbie to schedule.  You can also hold a cookie booth sale or any other type of fundraiser you’d like.  You will need to file a fund raiser form with Nancy to send to council if your sale is not for cookies.

Fire/Police Appreciation Dinner

It was decided that we would change this event this year to an Appreciation Breakfast and hold it at the Fire Department for both the Police and Fire.  Jodie will check with the Fire Department on a good date for the early spring.  All troops are invited to participate.  There will be no entertainment this year.

95th Birthday of Girl Scouts

On Monday evening, March 12th, 2007 all Girl Scouts and will be joining together in body and spirit to celebrate the 95th Birthday of Girl Scouting from 5:30 - 6:30 PM.  Cost $2.00 per participant.  The Theme is “Make the World a Better Place” so council is asking each Service Unit to collect canned goods that night for the food pantry.  We will be participating in the planed program (supplied by council) which includes a candle ceremony and group recitation of the Girl Scout promise timed so that all groups will participate simultaneously.  It will be at Chester Academy in the Café.  Girls will sing the song “In a Circle, Light a Candle”.  Nancy will send out song and lyrics so you can practice.  Patches available from GSUSA for $3.00 ea or we could make our own patches.  Nancy will need a count of how many girls from your troop are attending by Feb 1st  so candles and cake can be ordered.

Camporee

Camp Farnsworth - June 8 – June 10, 2007

Need to have approx. number of girls attending and top 3 choice of camp sites for April Leader meeting.

Choices:  Yolacan (40 with tents), The Nut (20), Kaflick (30), Tree Houses (30), Tall Timbers (28), Windigo (28) and Lakeside (24).

Junior Leaders:  4th and 5th graders will lead the Brownies/Daisies in the Girl Sport badge towards Junior Aide.

The Cadette troops can decide what badge/charm they’d like to lead the 6th grade Juniors in.  They earned Outdoor Survival last year, so that is the only one we can’t do.  Daisy troop prepares and eats supper with Cadette troop.  Do both Cadette troops want to do this together or does just one troop want to do it?  No Cadette leaders were present to answer these questions.

Gym-Ken

Date for Gym-Ken will be sometime in April.  We need a leader to make contact with Gym-Ken and reserve the date.  We could also try another gym if someone would like to do a little research into this.  Stephanie (Daisy Leader) is looking into some options for this.

Ice Skating

Ice Skating is tentatively scheduled for Feb 28th.   Jodie will run this event again this year.  She will check with the rink and get back to us with a firm answer on this trip.
