Council Mini-Training

Troop Trip Alerts.  See the training handout here  One new thing we discussed in this training is that council would like us to begin submitting trip alerts for town-wide events also.  Each troop should submit trip alerts for ceremonies, parades, etc.

Fall Fun

Feedback on this event was very good.  Cost of the event was minimal (roughly $22 over what we took in for admission) and the Junior and Cadette girls who led did a fantastic job.  It was commented that this was the best of the 3 “Girl’s Events” so far.  Crafts need to be kept pretty simple and girls who are leading rotate between 2 stations.

Paperwork

Missing leader appointment forms from Patti Smillie & Chris Szostak.

Bank Account form is due to me by November 11th    Everyone got a copy in your “new year packet” (with all the pink permission slips, health histories, etc.) If you need another copy, you can find it online here

http://www.swgirlscouts.org/PDFs/web%20forms/bank_account.pdf  Please complete 2 copies because the original form was duplicate.

Investiture

November 2nd, MPR, 7:00. We went over the ceremony step by step.

Fall Product Sale

Product is being delivered on November 10th to Jane’s house.

68 out of 100 eligible girls participated in the sale.  Total sales were $7,016 with $1,790.15 in profits going to our troops!  (That’s over 25%!)  If you haven’t turned in your T-1 to Jane yet, she needs them by November 2nd.  They are already late to council.

Veteran’s Day Parade

Sunday, November 11th.  Parade begins at 1 PM (please note change of time).  Troops should be at the MPR in uniform by 12:30/45 to line up.  Daisy and Brownie families are asked to bring a baked good to the Fire Station before the parade.  The time was changed to try to avoid conflict with church services.

Tree Lighting and Caroling

The annual Chester Christmas Tree lighting and caroling is scheduled for Sunday, December 9th at 5:00 PM.  Junior, Cadette and Senior families are asked to bring a baked good to Stevens Hall for the gathering after the caroling.  Please encourage your troops to attend.

Town-Wide events

There was still a lot of interest in doing the Ice Skating and Gym-Ken events.  Please speak to your girls to get their feedback and look at dates for Gym-Ken.  We would like to keep the Ice Skating during Feb. school vacation if possible.  We will do further planning on these events in upcoming months.
