Leader Meeting Minutes from November 18, 2004




-We had a short recognition of the leaders that took training

-Investiture (Thank You Kathe!)
  • -Still want to keep all the girls together.
  • -The younger girls enjoy seeing the older ones
  • -Will try to get the hall for the night before Veteran's day. There is no school the next day and we are out of the hall in 45 minutes.
  • -This will work until it falls on the weekend.

    -Veteran's Parade
  • -Went well
  • -We had enough refreshments but expected more.

    -Service Projects
  • -"Give till it hurts"
  • -Let the troops know what other troops are doing so there isn't a duplicate. Also the girls may want to donate and help.

      2552 is doing the Animal Shelter again this year.
    • -Collecting supplies
    • -Sponsor a cage for $ (can't remember how much)for the year. Any animal that is taken care of in that cage is taken care of with the $ that the troop gave.
    • - Call Deb with questions.
      2079 (Cadette troop) is doing childcare for the PTA meetings for the year.
    • -It is very much welcomed
    • -The girls are having fun too.
  • -Deb C. and Kathe T. are doing the Appreciation dinner that my girls have done for the Fire and Police Dept the past 2 years.
  • -The library is sponsoring the Santa's Breakfast. This would be a good community service. You could call the library to see where you can help.
  • -I need a troop to take over the Flag Retirement. I usually do it Memorial weekend. I have all the papers of how we did it but you can do your own.

    -Tree lighting and Caroling (Dec 12 5:00)
  • -The Girl Scouts have been helping with this for as long as I can remember.
  • -Seniors,Cadettes, and Juniors will be doing the refreshments.

    -Fall fund raiser (Thanks Terri!)
  • -Went well
  • -Those that participated did really well. They were very happy with there profits.

    -Cookie Sales
  • -Jodie A. is Cookie Manager!!!! She was the only one to respond. BIG THANKS!!
  • -She was a Daisy leader last year so this is new to her.
  • -Please have your paper work and $ to her on time so she has time to fill out all the paper work she need to get it to council on time.
  • -We will have the papers for you at the next meeting. Have some one there for you troop to receive it.

    -Camporee was asked about.
  • -Camp Farnsworth June 3,4,and 5.
  • -No need of any discussion till the date gets closer. We don't have a head count on the # of girls or the # of troops.

    -Was asked on the phone tonight if we were planning another skating event. Do we want to?

    -Gym-Ken sleepover-Do we want to?
  • -Let me know so I can call those that planned it last year to dee if they are willing to this year or find someone who will take it on.

    -We now have on online Trip Alert form.

  • The form will not submit without required information. The information will be automatically emailed to Cindy.

    -Next meeting Dec. 9 7:00 Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!

    Opening Doors of Understanding

    Belief Systems of the World: An Interactive Panel Discussion Thursday, Dec. 2nd, 6:30-8:00 p.m. (might run later for discussion) NH Technical Institute, Little Hall, Room #224 Concord, NH

    This program is a project of a high school (homeschool) world history class. My daughter and her friends have organized it with the help of the mom who is teaching the history class. They are really hoping for a good turnout, so please help us spread the word! The purpose of the forum is to "encourage greater understanding of different beliefs around the world in hopes of promoting peace." It is appropriate for all ages.

    Council sent us a list of activities that was collected from the towns in Swift Water. It has both troop and town activities that the troops did this past year. Troop and Town Activities
