Leader Meeting Minutes from April 14, 2005




Council info:
Council closed all summer on Fridays.
Council Store will be closed all summer on Fridays and Saturdays.
Full time staff will be cut to part time for the summer.
This is due to the low cookies sales nation wide. It is $1.4 million short.

Any one interested in summer activities? some activities are:
Scrap booking
Stamping
All about Horses
Health & Beauty
Travel club
Baby Sitting
Knitting
Dance
Animal Care
Outdoor Science
Hike & Explore
Geology
Camping
Daisy Camp
Photography
Adventure Club
These are some suggested activities that maybe happening in surrounding towns if there is enough interest. It may be one day or longer. If you have any other suggestions you can let myself or council know. Have your girls sign up with phone # and the activities that they may be interested in. Get it to me and I can get it to council. I have your end of the year report to get to you. I will as soon as I can.

Town Info:
I need the Thank You Cards from ALL TROOPS for the Home Builders Association! I need to get them to them asap. I also have to send and apology to them about the incident that happened at the Home Show. I still haven't heard from any troop if any leader or parent complained to Patty about where the table was placed and being there when it was so slow. Patty was very upset. Kathe T. is very embarrassed being a leader and having to deal with the association on a professional level. I spoke to the leaders that were at the meeting. That person should have first come to Sandy T. who was running the Home Show, myself as SUM or last Kathe T. I still haven't heard it we will be welcomed back. I will try to clear it up as SUM. If the home show is something that the town doesn't want to do anymore, let me know. Each troop can come up with their share of the camporee each year.

Because of the snow we have MANY cases of cookies left, Samoas and Mints. Heather is trying to arrange for a booth sale at a bank in Hampstead within the next couple of weeks. Keep a heads up for help. We owe council over $800 before there is even a profit. We need to sell the cookies! We have other options for next year so this won't happen again. It was discussed at the meeting.

Closing is June 9th. At the Multi-purpose room. Line up is 6:30, hoping to start by 6:45. The closing program was decided to be the same as last year. I need to have the list of girls flying up from each troop. Let me know about any changes in the girls in your troop.

I am still waiting to hear from the Rec. Dept. to see if I can change the campfire date to May 21 at 7:00. It was agreed to invite Candia Girl Scouts also. As soon as I hear I will confirm.

The next meeting will be mainly about the camporee. Kathe T. needs to know the # of girls that want to do each Try it in your troop. The Juniors that will be working on their Junior aide badge, also the # girls that will be working on a badge or patch with the Cadettes. The Brownie Try its are same as last year (they will be the same each year)
