Home Show Cookie Sales
The schedule for the Cookie Booth at the Home Show has been set. Try to arrive a few minutes before your shift starts so money can be counted between shifts.
The schedule for Saturday will be:
1:00 - 5:00, Brownie 2805
5:00 - 8:00, Junior troop 2245
In the case of Friday cookie arrival, Debbie volunteered to have 2245 take an early shift on Saturday from 10:00 - 1:00 as well as the 5:00 to 8:00 shift.
The schedule on Sunday will be:
9:30 - 12:00, Brownie troop 696 and 2450
12:00 - 2:00, Brownie troop 2546
2:00 - 4:30, Brownie troop 222
45 Cases of cookies have been ordered for the home show. Nancy has ordered 33 cases of cookies for her troop's booth sale the following weekend and is willing to transfer some of these cookies to the town if they run low. 222/2676's cookies can be supplemented at a cupboard the following week. Nancy is looking into borrowing the Council cookie costumes for the weekend.
Camporee Patches
Sandy will be ordering personalized camporee patches that say "Chester Town Camporee 2006". The cost will be $1.25 per patch. Please let her know if you're interested in purchasing these patches for your troop. There is a minimum of 50 needed to place the customzied order.
Camporee Activities
We had another discussion about what to do at the Camporee to fill time during the 1:00 - 5:00 time slot. Each troop will only be swimming for 45 minutes so it was suggested that we do an organized craft in the Keushk building to keep the girls busy. Jodie volunteered to organize the craft, if needed. We are thinking of doing something they could give to Dad for Father's Day. It would be a good idea to have an activity ready in case of bad weather anyway.
Other suggestions were that troops bring their own supplies to do crafts if they wish, or do their own activity like hiking. Also, it was suggested that we have an organized sport like a softball or soccer game instead of a craft. We tabled this discussion until a later meeting.
Court of Awards
The Court of Awards and Bridging Ceremony will be held at the MPR on Wednesday, June 14th at 7:00. Please instruct your girls to arrive by 6:30. We'd like to get started promptly at 7:00.
Gym-Ken
We have decided to do a group breakfast from Dunkin Donuts on Sunday morning at Gym-Ken. Debbie will be stopping by Dunkin Donuts sometime this week to ask them if they can fill our order of Munchkins for more than 50 girls. 2 troops are purchasing the juice and milk for breakfast. We will tally the total cost of all breakfast foods and divide it equally by number attending so each troop will pay their fair share.
Please get your count of girls attending to Nancy early next week. Also include the number of girls who are getting the $5 sibling discount so Gym-Ken can make up an accurate bill for each troop.
Nancy is bringing a DVD player so we can set up 2 Movie stations for "wind-down" time before bed. We will have the younger girls at one station and the older girls at the other. Debbie is also bringing some board games for the older girls.
Girl's Event 2006
We discussed a possible date for our Daisy/Brownie event for next Fall. We'd like to have it in the weeks following the Chester Fair so we can take registrations at the fair. We decided on September 24th pending approval from the Rec. Department. A planning committee will need to be formed before the end of this school year so we will be ready for September.
Leader Awards
Cindy is looking for names of Leaders you'd like to be nominated for an Outstanding Leader Award. This is done on the Service Unit level. You'd just need to send the name and why they qualify to Cindy.
**Our next meeting will be March 9th (second Thursday) due to school vacation.
