Brownie Troop 222

Bridging to Junior Girl Scouts
When a girl has completed her 3rd grade year or will be turning 9 yrs old, she is ready to "Fly Up" to Junior girl scouts. All Brownies who Fly Up earn their Junior Girl Scout Wings. She may also choose to earn her "Bridge to Junior Girl Scouts" patch. The activities involved in Bridging were created to make the transition to Junior Girl Scouts easier. At the end of her last year as a Brownie, she works with a Junior troop to get ready to become a Junior Girl Scout.
She needs to complete these six steps to earn her Bridging Rainbow Patch.
1. Find out about Junior Girl Scouting. Look at the Junior books and uniform.
2. Do a Junior Girl Scout Activity. Work on an activity from one of the Junior books.
3. Do something with a Junior Girl Scout Troop. Attend a meeting or go on a field trip with a Junior troop
4. Share what you've learned about Juniors with a Brownie or Daisy. After meeting with the Juniors, the Bridging Brownies will explain what they've learned to the younger Brownies.
5. Do a summer Girl Scout activity. This step must be completed before her first meeting as a Junior Girl Scout.
6. Participate in the Bridging ceremony. This can include making invitations, performing and/or making decorations for the event.
See Nancy if you have questions on any of these activities.
