If possible, please don't send in coins to pay for weekly dues. Last week I had 5 girls pay their $2 dues in quarters, dimes and nickels. I have to deposit this money in the bank and coins make it much more difficult. What I've had to do in this situation is change it for paper money or write a check myself and keep the coins. If you don't have cash available, you can either send in a check or send in $4 the following week. Thank you!

On Saturday, October 16th we'll be taking a historical tour of Chester. We'll be visiting the Chester Village Cemetery and Steven's Memorial Hall. Victor Chouinard will be leading us on the tour through the Cemetery and Hilary Hall will be showing us the Chester Historical Society office and exhibits. This trip is part of a badge for both troops. The Brownies will be working on "Listen to the Past" and the Juniors will be working on "Local Lore". If your daughter misses this trip, she will be missing this step of the badge. Family members are welcome to come learn about Chester with us! It should be a very interesting trip!

Last week we passed out the forms for our Fall Fund Raiser. The girls voted on the trip they'd like to go on with the money they earn. Not surprisingly, they chose the same trip they did last year! BUILD-A-BEAR! We had a great time at Build a Bear last year! This year we've decided that each troop will make one extra bear that will be donated to a local police department. The officers use these bears to calm children after traumatic events such as car accidents. We thought this was a great cause. Last year's trip cost us $332. We didn't make quite enough last year to cover this amount. Please help us attain our goal of at least $350 this year to cover the cost of 19 girl scouts (both levels), 2 bears to donate and food at the mall! Thanks for your help!

The items will be delivered to Chester on Nov 13th
Money is due by Monday, November 29th

I (finally) have both troop web sites up to date. They contain calendars of upcoming events, copies of these newsletters, a fun photo album and more. If your daughter misses a meeting, you can view the online newsletter to stay up to date.

þ In October, Chester Girl Scouts are planning a Camp
Fire Song Fest at Wason Pond.
þ Our Investiture Ceremony will be October 23rd at
7:00 pm at the MPR.
þ On November 11th we'll be marching in the Veteran's
Day Parade.
Daisys and Brownies supply
refreshments for this event.
þ In early December we'll be attending the Town Tree
Lighting Ceremony. Juniors and older girls supply
refreshments for this event.

Our apple picking trip was lots of fun! Thanks to everyone who attended! We were able to donate two large bags of apples to the Chester Food Pantry/Soup Kitchen.
Don't forget to return a note letting us know you made your baked apples!
