Bridging & Awards Ceremony

On Thursday, June 9th, Chester Girl Scouts will be holding the annual Bridging and Court of Awards Ceremony. It is very important that all the girls attend this ceremony. Both troops will be performing a song on stage and everyone has a part in it. If you know that your daughter will not be able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Please have your daughter at the Multi-Purpose Room in uniform by 6:30 PM.
The first grade is having an open house from 6:00 -7:00 on this same evening. If you have a first grader and anticipate being late for the ceremony, and you have a daughter who is bridging that night, please make sure the bridging girl is not late. If she can come with another family member or friend, it would be helpful. The bridging ceremony will take place before the performance. This is her big night!

We still have several boxes of cookies remaining. Please help by purchasing just one or two more boxes. We have Trefoils and All Abouts left. This remaining stock still represents about $100 in profit for the troops. I'll have the cookies at the meetings or can deliver them to your house. Please see me to purchase additional boxes. On Thursday, June 23rd we'll be visiting Canobie Lake Park. The cost per person is $18 (adults or children). The troop will be paying for all the girls enrolled in either of our troops for the 2004-2005 school year with the profit from our cookie sale. This is an open-ended trip. You can stay in the park as late as you'd like. If a scout is attending without a parent, she will have to stay as late as the group she goes with. We'll have to play that by ear. Please meet at Chester Academy by 9:15. The park is open from 10 AM until 10 PM.
On Saturday, July 16th we'll be having a BBQ and pool party at Nancy's house from 1--4 PM. We have a new in-ground pool that ranges in depth from 3' - 8'. Kevin Pilotte is a certified lifeguard and will be present while the girls are swimming. Please send a life vest if needed. Family is welcome to attend as well. The troop will be buying the food for this party. In case of rain, the party will be postponed until Sunday, July 17th.
On Saturday, August 20th, we'll be visiting Gym-Ken Gymnastics in Windham for a fun gymnastics party. The girls will have one full hour of gymnastics followed by 1/2 hour snack time. We will meet at Chester Academy at 12:15. The party is from 1--2:30 PM. The cost of this trip is $11 per person. The troop will be paying for all the girls enrolled in either of our troops for the 2004-2005 school year with the profit from our cookie sale. Please make sure the girls are dressed comfortably for gymnastics.
It's going to be a fun summer!
Next week will be our last meeting of the year.

Bridge to Brownies

All of the girls who are bridging this year have been working on either their "Bridge to Brownies" patch or their "Bridge to Juniors" patch. The Daisy scouts will be completing the "Movers" Try-it this week, which is the last step in their Bridge to Brownies patch.
The Brownies who are flying-up to Juniors will be completing their "Music Fan" Junior Badge the night of the Court of Awards Ceremony with their on-stage performance. The final step of the Bridge to Juniors patch is to attend a summer GS activity. This can be any of our summer trips or GS Camp.
