Bridging & Awards Ceremony

Want Cookies?

On Thursday, June 9th, Chester Girl Scouts will be holding the annual Bridging and Court of Awards Ceremony.  It is very important that all the girls attend this ceremony.  We will be performing a song on stage and everyone has a part in it.  If you know that your daughter will not be able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can re-work the act.

Please have your daughter at the Multi-Purpose Room in uniform by 6:30.  The Bridging ceremony is scheduled to begin at 6:45.  All 3rd graders will be bridging, even if they are unsure if they will return next year.

We still have 30 boxes of cookies remaining.  Would anyone be interested in buying an additional box or two to help us get rid of this stock?  We only have Trefoils and All Abouts left.  This remaining stock still represents about $100 in profit for the troops. I'll have the cookies at the meetings, please see me to purchase additional boxes.  Thanks for your help.

Junior Helpers Needed

The Junior girls have been working on decorating flower pots and planting flowers to be donated to the Lions Club for the upcoming Senior Citizen Banquet.  These will be used as the centerpieces on the tables.  We have made up 20 pots that need to be delivered to Chester Academy on Saturday, May 14th.  I will be at the school at 3:00 to deliver them.  If a few girls could come and help deliver them, it would be a big help.  It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.  It will also allow the girls to see what they've been working for.

Attendance

After today, we have only 4 meetings remaining for this year.  It is very important that the girls attend these remaining meetings.  Both the Brownies and the Juniors will be completing badge work.  If your daughter has had make-up work sent home, please remind her to complete it.  Thanks!

Upcoming Trips

Camporee

As we announced last week, on Saturday May 21st we will have 2 different field trips.  In the afternoon, the girls will be attending a Fisher Cats baseball game and in the evening, we will be attending a Town-wide Bon Fire at Wason Pond.  We should be back in plenty of time from the game to attend the Bon Fire.  If you haven't returned your slip for the Baseball game, please email Nancy or Anya with the total tickets you'd like to purchase.  The troop will be paying for all the Scouts tickets for the game as well as the snacks for the Bon Fire from our cookie funds.
As always, we will also have June, July and August activities.  In June, we will once again be visiting Canobie Lake Park and in July we will have a Pool Party and BBQ at Nancy's house.  The August activity is yet to be determined.  We hope to be able to cover the cost of all these activities for the girls with troop funds.  You will have dates for these activities before the end of the school year.

This is my current list of who will be attending Camporee this year on June 3rd--5th:
